Featured equipment restoration

Harvest Right freeze dryer vacuum system restored

A long-running vacuum failure was worked through systematically with pump comparisons, door and seal checks, sensor-system replacement, control-wiring verification, and finally ultrasonic leak isolation at the drain assembly.

Used an ultrasonic detector to isolate a substantial leak at the damaged drain hose and ball valve

Networking

Reliable internet from the house to a separate studio

Wi-Fi troubleshooting showed that an indoor mesh extension was being asked to cover the wrong kind of distance. A dedicated outdoor point-to-point bridge and independent studio router replaced the unreliable path.

Starlink

Remote pole-mounted Starlink with a buried route

When the best sky view was away from the building, the dish location and the route back to the home were treated as one problem. A freestanding pole and buried cable path made the remote location practical.

Starlink & networking

Roof-mounted Starlink integrated with indoor network equipment

A roof position provided the practical dish location while the connection still needed to reach and work with the network equipment inside the detached building.

Cameras

Solar-powered camera coverage for an outbuilding

Two exterior pan-and-tilt cameras and their separate solar charging panels were positioned around an outbuilding to add useful views without new permanent power runs.

Electronics repair

Dead Philips A/V head unit restored

A customer’s Philips home-theater head unit arrived completely dead. Expanded bench-testing and component-repair capability made it possible to isolate the no-power fault instead of condemning the entire system.

Documented the unit and traced the no-power condition into the supply section
Tested the operating and control rails while checking surrounding components
Removed the power board, replaced failed capacitors, reassembled, and function-tested the unit

A malfunctioning fireplace heat-blower assembly was opened, inspected, repaired, and bench-tested rather than replaced as one complete unit.

Smart window fan repaired after cord damage

A dual smart window fan had cord damage where the cable entered the housing. The unit was opened so the damaged section and internal connection could be repaired properly rather than patched only on the outside.
